With just a little design experience, I can prove you lot how to use Photoshop to create Cricut Cut files with this tutorial! Use your own graphics or purchased designs for beautiful print and cut illustrations!

Welcome to another week of the Cricut Post Series! I most always employ Adobe Illustrator to create Cricut Cut Files, but non anybody knows how to utilise it. I've constitute a lot of people are more comfortable with Adobe Photoshop, so I wanted to give you a tutorial on how to use Photoshop for creating Cricut Cutting Files! Don't worry, we'll cover Illustrator, too!

Tools For How To Use Photoshop:
- Cricut Maker or Cricut Explore Air -while I don't utilize my Cricut in this tutorial, yous will notwithstanding demand it when you cutting out your project.
- Cricut Design Space
- Adobe Photoshop
- Brilliant Life Watercolor Set
- Hi Sunshine Font
Step-By-Step How To Use Photoshop To Create Cricut Cut Files:
- Open Adobe Photoshop, then create a new document. Tip: I always recommend making the file size larger than the size you will be cutting out since Photoshop images can go pixelated if yous enlarge them.
- Go to FILE then click on Identify Embed and choose a PNG image you'd like to use. I used elements from the Bright Life Watercolor Gear up.
- Echo until you have all the elements you lot'd like, then rearrange and resize them. Tip: To move an particular to the back or front, get to the LAYERS panel, click on the element, then drag it downwardly or up.
- Select the type tool, then cull your font (I used Hello Sunshine Font). Click anywhere on the page and start typing. Adjust the size in the CHARACTER Panel.
- Once everything is where you want it to be, select all of the elements, then go to the LAYERS panel, select all the items past clicking the acme element, hold the shift key, and so select the bottom chemical element. At present drag everything to the file folder to Grouping the images.
- Select the grouping and elevate it to the NEW icon (it looks similar a sticky note). This will duplicate the grouping. Note: I do this in case I ever desire to change anything…you'll meet why in the side by side footstep.
- Now, hide one of the groups by clicking on the icon that looks similar an center. Open the other group and select all the elements, right click and select MERGE LAYERS. Once they're merged y'all will not be able to edit individual layers.
- Now, hide the white background.
- Select the MAGIC WAND tool and click outside the grouped image. Also click within the loopy letters like the f, due east, o, etc.
- Right click, then SELECT Changed. Keep it selected for the next steps.
- Create a new layer in the layers panel behind the graphic past clicking on the sticky note icon.
- Become to the Drawing Tool, make sure the color is white, and start coloring on the graphic in the new layer.
- Once it'south filled in, go to FILE, click on SAVE AS and choose PNG as the file type.
Now that your file is saved, you can upload information technology to Cricut Design Infinite as a Impress and Cut file! Cricut will do the rest for you 🙂
